Description
What is PALM KERNEL SHELL?
PALM KERNEL SHELL is the fraction of husk that remains after the kernel is removed after being crushed in a palm oil mill. Shellfish is a fibrous material and can be easily processed in bulk right from the product line to end use. The large and small shell fractions are mixed with the powder and small fiber fractions.
The core sheath moisture content is low compared to other residual biomass from different sources and shows values between 11% and 13%. Palm oil shells contain palm oil residue, which explains the slightly higher calorific value than the average lignocellulosic biomass. Compared to other industrial residues, it is a high quality biomass fuel with uniform size distribution, easy handling, easy fragmentation and limited biological activity due to low moisture content.
